Autumn Winter trends that everyone is wearing right now
Posted on
The clocks have gone back, the nights are getting shorter and the rain has once again graced us with its presence. On the upside, this season is a favourite among many fashion lovers who welcome the layers upon layers and cosy coats to complete the look. With Autumn heavily upon us, we’re taking a look at the best trends this season.
The chunky boots
Anyone and everyone are wearing the chunky boot this season. An update on the classic Chelsea, these boots are getting bigger and better with chunkier soles and longer in length and look great styled with straight leg jeans or if you dare to bare, an oversized blazer or dress. It’s not often that luxury fashion is so practical but these flatform boots are a welcome addition to our winter wardrobe, perfect for stomping through puddles and keeping us dry on the (many) rainy days. Bottega Veneta, Prada and The Row are all on our wish list.

The leather coat
The leather coat is a staple piece this Autumn/Winter. A trend that keeps resurfacing, it is worth investing in one that you’ll still wear in years to come. The belted trench is a favourite amongst designers such as Dolce and Gabbana, Saint Laurent and Anine Bing, whereas Prada and Miu Miu have opted for straight, buttoned overcoats in Autumnal shades of yellow and tan.
The balloon sleeve
The bigger the better with this trend! This look was all over the catwalk this year with Chanel, Christopher John Rogers and Nina Ricci showing us how it’s done. Think 1980’s – taffeta, big shoulders and more definitely being more. Although we may not be going out to as many social gatherings this year, who’s to say we can’t indulge and be that little bit extra at home? Queue the mirror selfies.

The Quilted coat
Ever wished you could just leave the house on those cold winter mornings in your duvet? Well it appears our favourite designers have got on board and made those dreams come true. Moncler have perfected this cosy and chic look with their padded coats but Ganni, Prada and Rick Owens are amongst some of other favourite designers keeping us warm this winter. The quilted coat looks great styled with some straight leg jeans and chunky boots – one of our favourite everyday looks this season.
The check print
If you haven’t seen this trend this season, where have you been?! This print was by far the most popular on the catwalk for Autumn/Winter and it’s one that’s so easy to wear. Whether you prefer a simple check coat or clashing different colours and sizes, this print can work for everyone. Naturally, Burberry lead the way with head toe looks in their iconic check, followed by Christian Dior, Miu Miu and Victoria Beckham putting a fresh spin on this classic print.

The Suit
For many of us the new reality is oversized jumpers and slippers in our make shift home office but on the off chance you are going out this season, the suit is the look to be wearing. Perfect for those colder nights when a dress is out of the question, the suit is a chic and sophisticated look for almost any occasion. Chanel are the masters of a classic suit while Prada and Balmain are giving us those 80’s vibes with over exaggerated shoulders and cinched in waists. Bold colours like red or our new favourite print – the check – are a sure way to get you noticed this season.
