We are delighted to invite the AMAZING Rhoya Selden of Rhoyally Chic to pick our her favourite pieces on the Timpanys blog this week! For those of you who do not know this stylish lady she is a UK & Seattle based fashion blogger. Her love of history and travel, as well as her background in costume design, shape the way she styles her outfits and photos. Her wardrobe consists of a mixture of vintage and new pieces, which she mixes and matches together. She loves sharing her daily style with other young professional women who want to look timelessly chic but still stay current and trendy. Please go and check her out! Second-hand doesn't mean second best. And that's certainly the case with Timpanys' collection of second-hand designer items. If you're like me, then you simply cannot afford to buy designer pieces full price (yet). But all of us fashionistas get the craving to treat ourselves with that special designer something. Plus, all of us have a moral responsibility to buy more second-hand items to reduce waste. By investing in second-hand designer pieces at Timpanys, you'll get a designer garment or accessory you love at a good price and also help the environment. It's a win-win situation, really. Accordingly, I have selected my 5 favourite items currently in stock at Timpanys for you this Autumn.
My 5 Favourite Picks
1 ) Hogan Silver Laser Cut Trainers (size UK5)
I wanted to start off with these trainers because I am a complete sucker for metallic footwear. I own seven pairs of metallic shoes, all of which I wear very regularly. The reason why is because they are so versatile and instantly add glam to any outfit. I wear my metallic trainers almost every day and I love how easy it is to dress them up or down. With chunky trainers so on trend, I just had to pick this pair. The silver colour and intricate laser detailing make these chunky trainers much more elegant than the other "dad sneakers" out there. These luxury metallic trainers would step up any all-neutral or all-black outfits you have and keep you comfortable at the same time.
2) A Little Black Bag: Chanel Black Matelasse Patent Leather Handbag -OR- Nina Ricci Black Shoulder Bag
I am cheating a bit here and stretching my second selection to two choices. A small black bag is an essential piece for any stylish woman's wardrobe. It's something you can wear running errands during the day and then at your fancy date or dinner party later in the evening. A little black bag is definitely worth the investment because you are going to be using it often. It literally goes with everything and for every occasion. I chose Chanel's black Matelasse patent leather handbag because what's not to love? The patent leather will keep in the rain (a big plus in the UK) and makes the bag look dressier. It also has the iconic Chanel quilted design and CC turn lock. This clasp with the Chanel logo adds value to your investment because the far majority of people voted their preference for the CC turn lock in a poll Timpanys conducted. Timpanys offers instalment payments, and if you can afford this bag, I'd really go for it.
My other little black bag choice is the Nina Ricci black shoulder bag. First off, I love its shape; its angles and curves make it unique. Its dainty gold chain and brand hardware are the finishing touches for this simple, yet highly elegant bag. This choice is much more affordable without sacrificing appearance. Both bags are timeless and you will wear them for many years to come, if not the rest of your life.
3) Gucci Reversible GG Belt
This is a relatively inexpensive option and one that will be even cheaper when you calculate the cost per wear. A regular black Gucci belt can be worn with so many outfits. A reversible Gucci belt? Perhaps an infinite amount of outfit possibilities. With both a black side and a pink side, this belt is ideal.
4) Gucci Red Marmont Fringed Pumps (size UK5)
The iconic Gucci loafer in a beautiful shade of red. I don't really need to explain my decision here, so I'll be brief. I chose this pair of shoes because everyone needs a pair of bright red shoes in their closet. Red shoes add a pop of colour to any outfit, adding energy to your look. The fringed loafer design will keep you looking smart and sophisticated. Seriously, you can wear these with a plain white tee and skinny jeans and look put together. Plus, the practical 2.5" heel height will ensure that your feet stay comfortable all day.
5) Sargossa Black Studded Heels (size UK7)
As the grand finale, my fifth choice is this pair of stunning block heels. I own a similar pair in grey suede and they are one of my favourite shoes. I love the multi strap and buckle design and the studs give a bit of edge to a classic pump. This contrast is what makes the shoe design divine. Plus they are on sale for £58; need I say more? Lucky for you, they are not my size!
I hoped you like my top five choices currently available at Timpanys. There are many good options out there for you to browse further. Go on treat yourself!
